History and Prophecy Understanding Prophecy I believe is just as important as knowing history and perhaps even more important. We often view history as a tool to keep us from making the same mistake twice. In the same way we can use prophecy and the fulfillment of it to keep us focused and looking forward. We should strive to understand what prophecy reveals about our future and how we should conduct our life based on that knowledge. When one knows and understands prophecy within the Bible and can see it coming to pass in todays news, It should entice one to take note. We need to stand up and examine what is on the horizon as well as looking back and marveling at the wisdom and omniscience of God. God's wisdom and knowledge far exceeds ours and God is able based on His aged abilities to look into the future and know what man and nations will do and also knows and sees what kind of misfortunes and uncommon disasters that will befall mankind. Prophecy.....What is it? Prophecy; A declaration of the future based on Divine guidance, and also, a gift of speaking under the influence of the Holy Spirit about that which is to come. Prophecy is history written in advance, and only God has the capability to see into the future. God is... 1. Omniscience...meaning: all knowing, knowing all things. 2. Omnipresent...meaning: always present, present in all places. 3. Omnipotent...meaning: all powerful, having unlimited power.
